Benefits to Business

There are 1.5 million Ohioans with a disability.  This is Ohio’s largest minority group.  The vast majority of the 800,000 working age Ohioans with a disability WANT to work, but more than 70% have no job.

This is despite the fact that multiple, independent, national studies on the employment productivity of disabled workers shows these workers require no more supervisory time, have no more days off work than normal, have no more workplace accidents and are less likely to quit their job.

Citizens with disabilities and their families control $2.1 trillion in annual spending and they have strong loyalties to employers who create job opportunities for workers with a disability.  In fact, a recent Gallup survey shows 87% of all U.S. adults would prefer to give their business to companies that hire workers with a disability.
